Charley Patton : The first great blues guitarist?

Deeper Roots Radio explores the music of the legendary Charley Patton. They dip their toes into the birth of the Delta blues featuring some classic tracks from the gravel-voiced masked wonder as well as some rich covers from contemporary performers.

Some say he was one of Robert Johnson’s teachers. Hard to know for sure. But they did live close to each other around Dochery’s Plantation. More about the influence of that location in one of our podcasts here.
